JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS

I recommend this must see movie because it is about one’s determination and courage to face any trial ahead.

A young man named Jason started his journey with the Argonauts to search for the Golden Fleece to save his mother and to claim his throne. Jason and the Argonauts faced many trials but they overcome it and found what they seek. The theme for this movie is about courage and determination to achieve their goals.

In the movie, Jason London portrayed the role of Jason. He portrayed Jason very well because I can see his determination in the movie. And I was disappointed to the character of Orpheus because he was different of what I imagine of what he looks like but he played his role nicely.

The editing of the movie was great because there are no flaws seen. And the of the combination action and drama scenes was good. The movie has a unique editing and that made a great impact in the movie.

The sound effect are great it feels like you are also in the setting. It’s nice to hear because it’s clear and not irritable to the ears.

The cinematography is amazing like when Poseidon rise from the water and made big waves that cause the Argo to be broken .And also the boy who can see the heaven to see the stars to guide them to their destination.

This movie had a great impact for me because it inspired me that determination is the key to make you strong.

Jason and the Argonauts Movie Review

Jason and the Argonauts

The movie comprised of a script that is well founded and summarized makes a movie. It's about a story in a book that takes months to read and then turning it in a film in a matter of hours. This is pretty impressive. The theme of the movie is heroism and the love for one's family members, heroism, courage, adventure and the like. I like the flow of the story, but it's not consistent. I can only watch this movie if I have time, it does not make stay sitting and watch. The movie does not last in my memories, it's a 3rd world movie for me.

The movie presented a strong, all-star, international cast. Most of the cast was good. Jason London made a fine Jason but not "good". The character composure of Jason has a high standard and some qualities London could not achieve. He was lacking in conviction, bravery and the courage, but overall he did fine. Jolene Blalock did well for Medea, her composure did fine. I was impressed with the character of Thompson, he made splendid work on Hercules and always made me remember him, all the time. He was the character I admired most. The characters of Hera and Zeus also made me happy, they brought the young, devious, deceiving, caring part of the gods.

The movie made fine music and brought to life the story and the movie. Composed orchestral music is always fine on movies and games. But the overall ambiance of the movie, I did not feel. The sound engineering needed improving. Appropriate sound effects was abundant and present in the film. I commend them for it.

For a movie of the opening of the 21st century, this movie pretty slacked off. This movie did fine editing and thought it a movie from the 1970's but to my surprise it was 2000 movie! Gladiator was a 2000 movie and comparing the 2 was like 30 years was the gap! The movie needed more effort on editing. The visual effects were good and I also commend them for it. There were many scenes that contained editing flaws that I would like the address. So, in overall editing, this movie did bad.

Cinematography in the movie was indeed pretty good and appropriate. For a movie depicting greek history not to mention mythology, they did good. The ambiance of lighting was pretty present. I admire them for it. The lighting was pretty dim on occasions and as bright when needed.

CE Worship Plan of Daniel Day Sta. Maria

By regularly attending christian meetings on Thursdays and Sundays, I am able to share the things I have experienced on this meetings and I am also able to present more. First I will write about the things I am doing inside these meetings.

As a regular and baptized Jehovah's Witness, I am always encouraged to always cooperate by means of commenting. We comment whilst studying as a congregation and studying the "Watchtower" magazine.

As a member, I am also enrolled in the Theocratic Ministry School. This school always gives me assignments such as reading Bible selections at the stage in front of an audience. The excitement while preparing and the emotion when performing is there, as I read passages with feelings & emotion. I must do it well in order to bring life to the message, have the audience feel that they were there thousands of years ago.

I also participate on regular activities, the morning house to house preaching on our territory about the Kingdom of God. I get to meet different kinds of people whether good or bad, young and old, boy or girl, Christian or Muslim etc. I never know who will open the door I knocked.

Serving Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ is a blessing and a responsibility of a lifetime! No amount of money, prosperity, fame, power or education can ever take this away from me. If persecution occurs, I am willing to give my life for Jehovah.

The experience in being one is indeed a happy one, this is the key to true happiness. It helps us with our problems, with our studies, our friends, our families and even the purpose of our lives. It changes our view of the world we live in and how do we cope up or react with it. All the things we do, things we say, should always be based on the Bible and it's laws. For according to 2 Timothy 3:16, the Bible is the inspired Word of God, applicable for teaching, reproving, setting things straight and for discipline.

The activities we really do is really refreshing, for we call it spiritual food, and we are always full with it. Every Thursday we go to study as a congregation on certain scheduled books. Yearly we study every book & chapter in the Bible and enjoy the Theocratic Ministry School. As young brothers read selections of the Bible, sisters role play on certain circumstances and tell us how to cope with it using the Bible,  and adult brothers give short talks. We sing 3 songs every meeting based on the topic presented, all our songs are composed and written on a beautiful songbook. We then proceed to our Public Meeting where we study our brochure "The Ministry of the Kingdom of God" monthly issues and gives us news, tips etc. we need in serving God.

On Sundays, we listen to a 30 minute Public talk which tackles mainstream problems of our world and how to use the Bible as a guide and adviser to solve this problems and rely on God.

From Tuesdays-Sundays, brothers & sisters tend to go preaching voluntarily and from their hearts to give brochures, magazine, tracts & books to people and preach to them house to house. If they listen and agree, we offer them free Bible study at their homes or a place they like in a time & date they prefer.

Reflection on Chapter 10

Sometimes I ask myself, "What is the most important gift I had ever received?" For me, it does not need to be super expensive. In fact, if a gift gave me happiness or gave me what I needed in my life, I will cherish it.

Among all the gifts I like to receive, one stands out above all. God gave this not just to me, but to all humanity. Jehovah gives me many things, but the most important gift of all is the ransom of his son, Jesus Christ. (Matthew 20:28) The ransom can give me unprecedented happiness and can suffice my most important needs. The ransom is the greatest declaration of love of Jehovah for me.

To sum it out, the ransom is Jehovah's way to pay or save mankind from sin and death. (Ephesians 1:7) Long ago, when Jehovah made Adam, he gave him perfectness. He is free from sickness, he will not grow old, he has everlasting life and therefore do not die. He has a father-son relationship with God.(Luke 3:38) Unfortunately, his skill of free will led him astray. Despite his perfectness, he chose to disobey God. He lost his perfectness and life. But his lost is not just for him, but for all his siblings too, that is why we die. (Romans 5:12) We inherited sin from Adam, and therefore because of sin, we die.

Because a perfect life was lost, no mere imperfect human can repay the ransom. It needs an equal payment for the ransom. Jehovah paid the ransom by sending a perfect spiritual son. But Jehovah did not send a mere son, he sent his only begotten son.(1 John 4:9,10) Jesus voluntarily left his heavenly home to serve his father.(Phil 2:7) Through the holy spirit, Jesus' spiritual body was transferred to Mary's womb as a perfect human. Jesus is called  "The Last Adam",  who is perfect and never sinned, gave his perfect life to ransom Adam's lost perfectness, Jesus paid the sin of Adam. So Jesus gave hope to Adam's siblings.

The Bible illustrated the challenges and punishments Jesus suffered before and during his death. He experienced brutal whips and then nailed in a stake. His sufferings proved that he was loyal to the end, even in the face of adversity.

Despite my sinfulness, I can experience rich blessings because of Jesus' ransom. The ransom gave way to forgiveness of sins we commit. Although we cannot avoid sin, we must strive to resist sin, do what's right and really regret our sins and try to never do it again.

October 6, 2013, last Sunday, the gospel spokes of faith in the Lord. It was very inspiring since during the homily, the priest emphasized that faith can move mountains. That we should not lose faith in the Lord if He does not grant us what we pray for in manner we ask Him to. Delayed answer does not mean that our prayers are rejected.

This made a difference in my outlook in life since there are times that I tend to lose hope when problems arise. There are moments when I want to give up whenever my prayers are not answered. At times I question the Lord why these things happen to me. How come other people are more blessed than I am? But after hearing the gospel and homily, there was realization in me that our Lord will never forsake us. Our Lord will never give us something that we cannot carry.

Problems make us stronger. He may not grant what we are praying for because He has bigger and better plans for us He knows what is the best for us. Hence, we should never lose faith. Instead we should strengthen our faith and continue believing in Him.
