Jason and the Argonauts Movie Review

Jason and the Argonauts

The movie comprised of a script that is well founded and summarized makes a movie. It's about a story in a book that takes months to read and then turning it in a film in a matter of hours. This is pretty impressive. The theme of the movie is heroism and the love for one's family members, heroism, courage, adventure and the like. I like the flow of the story, but it's not consistent. I can only watch this movie if I have time, it does not make stay sitting and watch. The movie does not last in my memories, it's a 3rd world movie for me.

The movie presented a strong, all-star, international cast. Most of the cast was good. Jason London made a fine Jason but not "good". The character composure of Jason has a high standard and some qualities London could not achieve. He was lacking in conviction, bravery and the courage, but overall he did fine. Jolene Blalock did well for Medea, her composure did fine. I was impressed with the character of Thompson, he made splendid work on Hercules and always made me remember him, all the time. He was the character I admired most. The characters of Hera and Zeus also made me happy, they brought the young, devious, deceiving, caring part of the gods.

The movie made fine music and brought to life the story and the movie. Composed orchestral music is always fine on movies and games. But the overall ambiance of the movie, I did not feel. The sound engineering needed improving. Appropriate sound effects was abundant and present in the film. I commend them for it.

For a movie of the opening of the 21st century, this movie pretty slacked off. This movie did fine editing and thought it a movie from the 1970's but to my surprise it was 2000 movie! Gladiator was a 2000 movie and comparing the 2 was like 30 years was the gap! The movie needed more effort on editing. The visual effects were good and I also commend them for it. There were many scenes that contained editing flaws that I would like the address. So, in overall editing, this movie did bad.

Cinematography in the movie was indeed pretty good and appropriate. For a movie depicting greek history not to mention mythology, they did good. The ambiance of lighting was pretty present. I admire them for it. The lighting was pretty dim on occasions and as bright when needed.
